Our Fees
We try to keep our fees at a minimum, with an average return costing $250 or less, a real bargain considering the fact that all returns are prepared by Dr. Rokas, a NY/NJ attorney with a Princeton Ph.D.
When comparing fees of various tax preparers, you should also make sure you compare preparers with similar credentials and qualifications.
Individual Tax Fee Schedule
June 2016
Note: We provide a 15% discount if we have previously prepared the most recent three years of tax returns for you. Fees are valid on the condition that taxpayer provides all information requested in the format requested at the same time.
To illustrate how pricing works, a simple tax return for a US citizen working abroad as an employee with 55,000 US dollars income, five foreign bank accounts with a total balance of $100,000 and low interest, two minor US citizen children, tax refund from the additional child credit for the children, health coverage exemptions and electronic filing for the return will cost a total of $250. This is a very low fee – for example, Flott Co charges $750 for the same service (see http://www.flottco.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/2015-Individual-Tax-Fee-Schedule.pdf), Greenback Expat Tax Services (which unlike us is not a law firm) charges $580 (see http://www.greenbacktaxservices.com/expatriate-tax-return-preparation-costs/) and Taxes for Expats (which unlike us is not a law firm) charges $425 (see http://www.taxesforexpats.com/services/our-fees.html). Note that generally only low cost tax preparers post their fees online, and the above fees are are the only ones we could identify posted online.
